My faithful readers know that I love photographing doors. Maybe it is because they do not go anywhere or act shy and do not ask for money for taking their picture. Many of the place I have been have magnificent, ornate, inviting doors. Morocco sure did.
Morocco also had exquisitely ornate ceilings. The use of mosaic tiles to lift your spirits by making you look up is an art I had not seen before. Sure, I have seen many painted ceilings, including the Sistine chapel. However tiled ceilings seemed like something quite different. Here is a selection of doors and ceilngs to feast your eyes on.
Thanks again for viewing. Spin the coconut by hitting the share button and open the door for your friends!
Mary Ann and I are taking off in 48 hours for Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zulu Land. 5 weeks of animals, waterfalls, the low veld and the high veld. From sand dunes to beaches, to the Cape. From Kruger Park to Krugerrand hungry Jozi. Wish us luck and stay tuned for many, many more posts.
